31/10/2019 - Updates to eight themes

In October, eight themes were updated on the BISA website

In October, much of the data from eight areas covered by the IBSA was updated.


Under the "Population" theme, figures on the Number, Size and Type of households have been updated with data from 2018 and 2019, and the year 2008 has been revised. The figures for Population by age group, the Average age of the population and Private households, have also been updated under "Key figures by municipality", all three as of 1 January.

Figures for the year 2019 have been added to the table that lists the Number of hospitals and other health facilities, those for 2018 for the Number of people with a disability and those for 2017 for the Breast cancer screening coverage rate under the "Health" theme.

As for the "Early childhood" theme, the tables on the Number and capacity of childcare facilities were enriched with data from 2018. The same applies to the section on Reception facilities for children under 3 years of age under "Key figures by municipality".

In the data available under the "Labour market" theme, the tables covering the Number of workstations at local authorities have been updated with 2018 statistics and those dealing with Work pattern and type of contract have been updated with 2017 data. Under the "Key figures by municipality", the figures relating to Part-time work have also been updated.

Under "Economy", 2018 data have been incorporated into the tables on Exports and Imports and the figures for the years 2015 to 2017 have been revised.

Under the "Public finances” theme, the tables dealing with the Rate of additional municipal taxes have been completed with the figures for 2018 and 2019.

With regard to the "Land-use planning and Real estate” theme, statistics for 2017 and 2018 have been added to the table on the Social housing stock, figures for 2018 to those on the Office stock, and those for 2019 to the Number of garages, car parks or covered spaces. Under the same theme, this time addressed under "Key figures by municipality", the Land use and office stock and Housing sections were also updated.

Finally, under "Environment and Energy", the table dedicated to the Inventory of Soil Conditions and the table covering Green spaces with nature protection status were completed with the data as at 1 October 2019. The "Energy" section saw an update to the Brussels energy balance with the 2017 figures as well as a revision of those from 2013 to 2016 and an update of the tables on Electricity and gas flows to the regions with the 2018 statistics.
