31/03/2017 - Monitoring des Quartiers: 21 indicators updated

Brussels Institute for Statistics and Analysis (BISA) - Monitoring des quartiers allows any internet user to have easy and quick access to a range of regularly updated statistical information on any neighbourhood. This month, 21 indicators have been updated.

The indicator Percentage of children under the age of 18 living in a household without any income from work under the theme Income - Social status has been updated with the 2013 figures.

6 Social housing indicators under the theme Housing have been updated. The data were obtained from the Housing Corporation of the Brussels-Capital Region (SLRB) Land Registry on 31/12/2015;

  • percentage of social housing units (number of social housing units per 100 households);
  • percentage of social housing units with 0 to 1 bedrooms;
  • percentage of social housing units with 2 bedrooms;
  • percentage of social housing units with 3 bedrooms;
  • percentage of social housing units with 4 or more bedrooms;
  • percentage of social housing units qualified as comfortable.


14 indicators under the theme Education were updated for the 2015-2016 school year based on the numbers of pupils registered for nursery, primary or secondary education in a French or Dutch-speaking school, and whether or not they reside in the Brussels-Capital Region.

Nursery education:

  • amount of school places in proportion to the region (nursery education);
  • percentage of local children attending nursery school close to their own home;
  • percentage of local children and children living in adjoining neighbourhoods in proportion to the number of pupils registered in local nursery schools;
  • percentage of non-Brussels children registered in a regional (neighbourhood or municipal) nursery school;
  • percentage of local (living in the area or municipality) children registered in a nursery school outside of the Brussels-Capital Region.
     

Primary education:

  • amount of school places in proportion to the neighbourhood (primary education);
  • percentage of local children attending primary school close to their own home;
  • percentage of local children and children living in adjoining neighbourhoods in proportion to the number of children registered in local primary schools;
  • percentage of non-Brussels children registered in a regional (neighbourhood or municipal) primary school;
  • percentage of local (living in the area or municipality) children registered in a primary school outside of the Brussels-Capital Region.


Secondary education:

  • percentage of local children attending secondary school close to their own home;
  • percentage of local children and children living in adjoining neighbourhoods in proportion to the number of children registered in local secondary schools;
  • percentage of non-Brussels children registered in a regional (neighbourhood or municipal) secondary school;
  • percentage of local (living in the area or municipality) children registered in a secondary school outside of the Brussels-Capital Region.
