The Brussels Region has a serious shortfall in engineers and highly qualified technicians (in IT, architecture, natural sciences...). Merely one student in eight decides to pursue a science or technology degree. And, from those 1 in eight, only 1 in three are women. Attracting more students and especially more female students to these sectors is a major challenge for the future of employment in the Brussels Region.
