Brussels Institute for Statistics and Analysis (BISA) - Discover the last edition of Mini-Bru

The Brussels-Capital Region celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. This is an opportunity for this 30-year-old to review its current state in numerous areas through some statistics. This is the idea behind the Mini-Bru, whose 2019 edition is released today.

As a new feature, the Mini-Bru 2019 presents figures on the kilometre charge for freight transport by road for the first time. Find out the impact of this kilometre tax on the renewal of the truck fleet.

Another first in this 2019 edition: employment in international institutions located in the Brussels Region. You will discover that these institutions employ 48,000 people. How many of them do you think are women?

The Mini-Bru 2019 also reveals some amazing facts. As the Brussels Region is ageing, it is expanding in surface area! Did you know that the Region now comprises an additional 1 km2? This is the result of a recent methodological revision in the calculations of the ​​ surface area of administrative districts, carried out by the Cadastral Agency of FPS Finance. The surface area of ​​the Brussels-Capital Region is now 162.4 km2.
