Schaerbeek (8.1 km2, 5 % of the regional territory) is a municipality located in the north-east of the Brussels-Capital Region.

It stretches from Gare du Nord at the start of the Liège motorway, near boulevard Reyers. To the north, the railway and the railway station’s marshalling yard form the boundary with the City of Brussels (Laeken and Neder-Over-Heembeek).

The municipality is bordered by Evere to the east and by Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, Etterbeek, the City of Brussels (around rue de la Loi) and Saint-Josse-ten-Noode to the south.
