Brussels Institute for Statistics and Analysis (BISA) - Did you know ? - 16/05/2017

Answer: 31.5 years

According to 2015 birth statistics, on average, women in Brussels give birth at the age of 31.5.

Compared to 5 years earlier, i.e. 2010, where the mean age stood at 30.7 years, we noted a marginal increase.

Women residing in the Brussels-Capital Region are on average one year older at the time of delivery than those in the rest of the country (the national average for 2015 stands at 30.5 years).

And last but not least, the average age of women at childbirth in the 19 Brussels municipalities is the highest in Woluwe-St-Lambert (33.4 years in 2015) and the lowest in St-Josse-ten-Noode (30.0 years).
