How many free Wi-Fi spots does the Brussels-Capital Region provide?

Brussels Institute for Statistics and Analysis (BISA) - Did you know? - 11/12/2018

Answer: 211

The Brussels-Capital Region launched in 2006  a free Wi-Fi network, called Urbizone.

In 2016, in the context of the Smart City project, this network was renamed “wifi.brussels”. Another objective of that project is to expand the free Wi-Fi network  of the Brussels-Capital Region.

Since 1 October 2018, the Region’s network has 211 hotspots spread across metro stations, public buildings and public areas.
